An open letter to the members of the Imprint hiring committee.



I am disgusted by your choice of editor-in-chief. The hiring of a former FedS president who openly funded Imprint with student money stinks of cronyism. The selection of Rick Smit violates the very principles on which Imprint was founded.  



To publish a newspaper for the purpose of providing the University of Waterloo community with information, entertainment and a forum for the discussion of issues that affect the community, and



To provide Universtiy of Waterloo students with the opportunity 



Could the hiring committee not find anyone among the current rank of Imprint staff who wanted to try their hand at running the paper? Could they not find a recent graduate of the school who actually understands and cares about the issues on campus and is looking for a foothold in the harsh media employment landscape?
